landylass (49 )    8:46 pm, 16 Aug

The Lance Armstrong book that

farmerlloyd mentioned 2 pages back is "It's not about the bike" with the subtitle "my journey back to life". I've just finished reading it myself and recommend it to dageezer (sorry if I've got your name wrong) and her partner to read. Armstrong's cancer was extremely advanced - so his story really gives "worst case scenario". Testicular cancer has a 90% cure rate if caught early enough, so fingers crossed your partner has an excellent prognosis. Thinking of everyone else here who are determinedly waving their swords!

justbrowsing99 (29 )    8:50 pm, 16 Aug

anyone seen any posts

landylass (49 )    8:51 pm, 16 Aug

farmerlloyd (24 )    11:10 pm, 16 Aug

Hi farmerlloyd :))

how are the babies doing?

janetmk1 (40 )    11:16 pm, 16 Aug

Hi farmerlloyd and Janet

I just love scrabble my son (Garry) gives me such a hard time about losing I really try and sometimes I win. I hate it when my DIL wants to play cause she is a teacher and says you can't have lots of words a real pain I call her. I better retire, night Janet and farmerlloyd

boop2 (111 )    11:19 pm, 16 Aug

Oh .. I may not have told everyone

The state of my bank account meant that I have now sold most of the small flock of ewes just a few days ago .. and those that remain ( about 20 ) have a couple of weeks to wait before they drop their bundles !! But there are calves on the ground all around here now. In fact calving is well under way I think .. Lambing will take a week or two before it gets busy..

farmerlloyd (24 )    11:20 pm, 16 Aug

This is definitely good night to all

All packed, and pressure sleeve and mitten awaiting for the morning. Will miss you all. My fingers will have nothing to do!!!! Dying to hear how Sonia's holiday went. Yes, Mae West, Eileen is one of my favourite characters on Coro St. too, but I bet you work harder than she does. Must close the trusty lap-top down for 11 days, my husband says I will have withdrawal symptoms. Bye bye.

dize5 (493 )    11:24 pm, 16 Aug

Have a good trip dize ..

I reckon you should just stay up.. have a cuppa or two then head off to the airport .. you have to be up at such an unearthly hour !!

farmerlloyd (24 )    11:26 pm, 16 Aug

Good morning everyone

It is another lovely day here in Southland. please disregard the post I made about my bank account. It was too late and I didn't think before I wrote that. What I really meant to say was . Another farmer made me an offer too good to refuse, so I took the money and sold him the sheep!!

farmerlloyd (24 )    7:31 am, 17 Aug

Morning everyone

FIL's first load of chemo went well. He says he feels miles better already, I didn't realise it could work that quickly. Am trying to convince him to be driven to AKL (he lives 4 hours drive away) by someone else so he doesn't need to worry about driving but he's being stubborn and doesn't want to put anyone else out. He's a grumpy old sod sometimes!

christyw (179 )    7:33 am, 17 Aug

Hi Joystik

I am sure you will get through today just as fine as you have got through the other treatments. It simply amazes me how well you keep throughout. Good on you and hope your day goes well.

farmerlloyd (24 )    7:34 am, 17 Aug

Good morning Bogeyi and Ryan

Hope you had another good night's sleep. I get the feeling the worst is behind you guy's now. I hope I am right. Have a good day and tell Ryan I wish him all the best every day. The talk about getting home soon is a real encouragement.

farmerlloyd (24 )    7:38 am, 17 Aug

Hi Paula , Josh and family,

Hope you are all feeling fine on this glorious Southland morning ..( I've gotta get outside !) But do hope Josh doesn't have to go through that bronchoscopy! I won't tell you what I thought of that procedure when I was at Kew! In the big picture I suppose it is only a small blip , if it does have to be done. Anyway hope your day goes just fine

farmerlloyd (24 )    7:44 am, 17 Aug

is back again on 06 Sep for appointment then next load of chemo on 07 Sep. Still have no more information from him. Might see if I can go with him for his next appointment to ask questions. Is the 2nd load of chemo more powerful than the first? Am looking forward to having a full nights sleep tonight - he heads home today.

christyw (179 )    7:44 am, 17 Aug

To Boop, Meridian, Maewest, Janet and all of the

other nice posters here, Good morning , It is a lovely day at this end of the country and I hope you each have as good weather wherever you are. I have to go off and load a transport truck with some bales of balage. It is due in about five minutes ... See you all later

farmerlloyd (24 )    7:48 am, 17 Aug

The chemo does build up in your system, and each session is like a top up before the the previous one wears off. I found with my treatments, that I was very tired the 2 nd day after my treatment. I used to have complete rest on this day. The following day I would go to work as per norm. I remember my first chemo was a sigh of relief that treatment had started, and that it was in my body doing its thing. Prior to the first treatment, you are still in a state of shock, and your mind working overtime that the dreaded "c" was in your body.

hardyro (2 )    8:38 am, 17 Aug

Morning everyone :))

Another beautiful day here. I hope you can all get outside and enjoy it. I managed to get outside for 20 mins yestaerday while Jordan was sleeping, its so cold inside with the curtains all shut to keep the light out. He and I sleep in the lounge together while hes sick so I can look after him. Hes doing ok so far, he can feel the vertigo in his head if he opens his eyes in the morning and hasn't vomited yet. The first week is usually like this though as it keeps building till the third week. Hes also on anti nausea meds.

janetmk1 (40 )    9:06 am, 17 Aug

Hi bogeyi and Paula :))

how are the boys today?I hope everything is well.

janetmk1 (40 )    9:12 am, 17 Aug

landylass (49 )    10:41 am, 17 Aug

Beaut day here today and

should be outside in the garden but got lazy and sprayed the weeds early last week and they are all just starting to die so got to be patient before I go cleaning up garden and replanting. Housework has the priority today! Miss17 dropped a bombshell on me last night. She announced 2 weeks ago she wants to go back to Germany next Winter. She got a email from her German "sister" yesterday when her school holidays are. Looks like Miss17 will be gone for her 18th birthday. Miss German plans to have her drivers license and they want to spend 6 weeks travelling thru Spain, France, Switzerland, Italy etc. I think they are too young to be wandering round Europe on their own and I'm not a happy mum! Hubby keeps telling me it might not happen. Whole idea of her not going to uni next year and working was to save some money! Miss German is coming back out in 18 months and they want to go tripping round NZ in Xmas holidays so there isn't going to be much working done! Kids eh!

landylass (49 )    10:47 am, 17 Aug

Morning all

Been really lazy so far today.Stayed in bed with the sun streaming in. Another fantastic day. Friends arriving out from town soon, so can't linger for long on here. Landylass, that's kids for ya!! Plans...wot plans??? I.m looking out the window at all the weeds in my garden. They will just have to wait! Have a lovely day.

maewest (79 )    10:53 am, 17 Aug

Bogey and Ryan

good morning to you two. Hope it is going to br another good day for you. Hope that corner has been turned and it gets better every day. Paula I wonder if you are doing the rounds? How many calves do you have now? Hope Josh is having a good day too. (((HUGS))) to you all.

maewest (79 )    10:55 am, 17 Aug

Hi Maewest....

another day off today. Got the feel of spring here but looks like I am going to have to stay inside and do the housework. I might emerge from it in a weeks time!!!! Of course I could disappear and go for a walk and enjoy the sunshine on the excuse exercise is more important!

landylass (49 )    10:56 am, 17 Aug

Haha Boop

If our dispatch room ran like Street Cars we would have gone out of business long ago!! I always have hysterics when I watch Eileen operating! Hey I love Scrabble too, but nobody else does. I used to play with my Mum and Grandmother all the time. Great game. Sounds like it's a beautiful day on both sides of the island. Enjoy your day Boop XX

maewest (79 )    10:58 am, 17 Aug

o-ption 2 sounds the one to go for!! Who appreciates when you have spend hours doing the housework anyway? I did that on Tuesday and today it could do with another go....but no!!! I am rapidly running out of time to do all the things I had planned before my friends arrive. Oh well.Enjoy the walk!

maewest (79 )    11:00 am, 17 Aug

Yay. Only 2 more to go now. Hope you are still feeling good. Hey, better to have as many radiation treatments as they want to give you. More ammunition to fight the beast!! You go girl!! (((HUGS)))

maewest (79 )    11:01 am, 17 Aug

good on you for taking the $$ and running. I would too. Sorry I didn't go to Ian Gawler last night. We had such a lovely day pottering around the countryside and I just could not be bothered racing in to Chch at teatime. One of the friends I am seeing today went though. Hopefully she took some notes. To tell the truth I felt a bit guilty not going. Oh well, never mind. I will have another read of his website. Have a lovely day in the sunshine.

maewest (79 )    11:05 am, 17 Aug

Waves to Kwikaz

enjoy the lazy days while you can. You deserve it. Pleased that the news about your friend was not as bad as it could have been. Wishing him a speedy recovery. That Dize will over there too by lucky people XX

maewest (79 )    11:06 am, 17 Aug

Good morning Janet

It must be hard having to keep the house in the dark. What a shame. Hope Jordan's day isn't going too badly...Danny too. Had an oops with Josh last night. Sent his ex girlfriend a txt asking if he was the only person she knew who wanted to commit suicide. Big family meeting here last night!! Pretty sure that's not what he is thinking...just trying to make her feel bad!Grrr!

maewest (79 )    11:09 am, 17 Aug

And a big hi

to everyone else. Hope you all have a wonderful day. Sorry gotta fly XXXX

maewest (79 )    11:11 am, 17 Aug

For Hardyro

After the op I had 4 drains (2 in my abdomen, 2 on my side beside boob). The ab drains were not too bad, but the ones draining the breast site were really painful at times. The first week was painful, but it didnít help that I didnít take morphine after the first couple of doses because it made me throw up, and I tended to wait until the pain was pretty bad before I took pain relief. Donít do that; take the pain relief earlier rather than later. After about 5 days I didnít even take any pain relief Ė but thatís just me. By the time I left the hospital (a week) I could walk around a little, but had to remember to take it easy. My stomach felt very tight (as you can imagine), and I felt all stooped over when walking. I had to wear the ab support (canít remember the name of it) for at least 6 weeks, and I hated that. By that time I was able to bike, walk etc, and was pretty mobile (with some obvious limitations). My initial plan was to get the tram flap, then a nipple reconstruction. I have decided against the nipple recon now though. My plastic surgeon made an excellent job of the Ďboobí,& with a bra, no one would know the difference (except when it's very cold LOL). My ab scar goes from hip to hip, & my navel was repositioned. The entire length of the ab scar (from above my navel to just above the pubic line) is numb (about 1.5cm deep), and that carries on up my torso where they Ďtunnelledí the muscle up to my chest. The entire breast is completely numb. I often liken the numb torso to wearing a thick rubber wetsuit. Lying on my stomach feels very odd, and I have to be very careful about burns etc. I do sometimes get pain and itching where the nerves have been cut. This is weird because where I think I can feel these sensations, there is no feeling, so the itch canít be scratched (if that makes sense to you). Cont ...

Hi All

Hope everyone is doing well. I dont mean to bring up the past but man that person that took the 3000 th post P'd me off!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Vent over! Have just tried to catch up on everyone. Kiwikaz - I am glad to hear you are having some time for you, even in the circumstances you are in.I think you are wonderful being there! Dize5 - Have a great time! FarmerLloyd - I am into it now, we now have over 50 calved and the due date to start was yesterday. Hope it keeps up like this and it will be over in no time. Chris had to buy some feed in today as we are a bit low. Janet, I really feel for you and Jordan. It must be so hard - hugs to you both. I understand that was the emulator you sent me, but dear Josh checks daily for new games appearing on the list and I was thinking I would need to update that emulator each time they add a new game???Maybe???

paulaxx (78 )    2:18 pm, 17 Aug

Hi Boop, thanks for your kind words, Josh is feeling better, this lot of chemo was the next 12 week course. Of course he has had to stop twice now so it will be delaying the end. Each 12 week course starts the day after the last 12 week. So he doesnt get a break unless he gets sick - like he has. Hi Meridian, Maewest, landylass I am thinking of you all. Just getting busier by the day. Landylass - I wouldnt like to have to deal with one of my kidlets thinking about travelling around Europe, at 18. Hope it works out for all. K better go, Cass is due home soon and then its homework and feeding the calves again. Love to you all xoxo

paulaxx (78 )    2:20 pm, 17 Aug

Before I run off - Hi Bogeyi. Hope you are having a good day. Hugs to you guys xxoo Joystik - I hope your treatment has gone well today. Thinking of you xoxoxo

and more for hardyro

I'm not sure how much of this is helpful to you, and I don't know what you know, and what you want to know about. If you want to ask me anything else, please do. It's great that you are a non-smoker as I know that smoking can be a big cause of complications. I urge you not to 'worry' as I believe that a positive attitude makes so much difference in recovery. I will be eager to hear how it goes for you, and will be thinking of you on the 30th for sure. Shirree xxxx

meridian1 (300 )    2:25 pm, 17 Aug

You sound busy, busy, busy!!! I'm glad Joshi's temp went back down. So he's back into the chemo again huh - poor little chap, it's a bit full on isn't it! What is next for you after the aspiration? Did it hurt? Excuse my ignorance. I agree about that person snatching the 3000 - cheeky huh!! Have a great day Paula, and give your sweet little kidlets a hug from me. xxxx

meridian1 (300 )    2:39 pm, 17 Aug

Things are sounding really positve with Ryan - YAY!!! It sounds like he is having more and more good days - that is so great to hear! I hope today is another of those really good ones. The possiblity of going home next week must be awesome for you and Ryan. Big love and hugs to you both. xxxx

meridian1 (300 )    2:42 pm, 17 Aug

Hope you don't mind Kiwikaz

me telling your mb friends this. I think its great you have gone to support your friend, even though you are missing your daughters birthday today. When Kiwikaz hubby was diagnosed he ended up in Brisbane hospital after a seizure, 10 hours from home and she had to stay home and sort out where 3 kids were going, the youngest only 2. She got to Brisbane to find out he had a brain tumour, was bleeding in brain and may not survive 24 hours. She was alone in Brisbane and didn't know anyone. He survived the night and came round and got to ring kids to say goodbye knowing he might not survive the operation. His family from NZ were frantically trying to get there but flights organising flights take time and its thanks to a good friend in another part of OZ who flew in to be with her that she wasn't alone during his op. What goes round comes round and now she is supporting someone else in this situation. Good on you and wishing him a speedy recovery.

landylass (49 )    2:44 pm, 17 Aug

what a truley special friend you are to be there to support your friends in Australia. It's good to hear that your friend's diagnosis isn't as bad as it could have been. Still will be hard though, and I bet they are glad of your support. I hope miss 11 is having an awesome birthday. xxxx

meridian1 (300 )    2:45 pm, 17 Aug

OMG Landylass ...

just read your post about what kiwikaz went through. Bought tears to my eyes! You really are such a special person kiwikaz!! Thanks so much for sharing that landylass.

meridian1 (300 )    2:50 pm, 17 Aug

my love to you and Jordon. How old is he? You are doing a fantastic job and I bet your boys love you dearly for it. xxxx

meridian1 (300 )    2:52 pm, 17 Aug

Kiwikaz is my neice

and when it happened all of us in NZ were just feeling sick in the stomach knowing she was on her own over there facing the prospect of loosing her hubby. She had great community support where she lived but those couple of days in Brisbane until family arrived must have been a nightemare for her... also with worry of how the kids were handling it too.

landylass (49 )    2:53 pm, 17 Aug

Well landylass

She must be an incredibly stong person. How awfull for her (and you all here in NZ feeling so helpless).

meridian1 (300 )    2:57 pm, 17 Aug

I'm too late to wish Dize a happy holiday ...

She will be there now! If you get to look in Dize - HAVE AN AWESOME TIME!!!!

meridian1 (300 )    2:58 pm, 17 Aug

I hope your chemo today went well. Have the real estate firm confirmed you appointment on their staff yet? Hope you are having a great day! OH BTW, your dinners always sound so yummy!

meridian1 (300 )    3:00 pm, 17 Aug

Hello everyone, just got back from town a wee

while ago. Hd to be there at 9.30am so it was a bit of an early start for me today. Was at Kew by 9.20 and they took me straight in and it all went like clockwork today. They were so busy in there today with I think she said 15 new patients!! Thats rather sad isnt it. The infusion was done and I was off out of there by 10.30.....

and it's for Sonia, Brent, Lydia and Emily. Hope they are having an awesome, relaxing time in Fiji. Missing you Sonia!!!

meridian1 (300 )    3:14 pm, 17 Aug

Hi guys.

I haven't read the thread but it seems to me that it has got a bit long. Probably time to let it die and start another one. If you want to know why then pop into the "rangiora and all north cantabrians" thread and ask Gills. Believe me when I say I think it's advisable.

keys (12 )    3:16 pm, 17 Aug

Hi all, we're having a great time here in Fiji. Its rainy and windy today but was a welcome break really from the sunny warm days in pool every morning and afternoon :o) Hopefully will be back to sunshine tomorrow ;o) We're at Brents cousins house now, tried to catch up on the last 10 pages or so LOL but I was being rude! So will have to catch up later.

soniat-d (153 )    5:03 pm, 17 Aug

Glad you are enjoying yourself

Sonia! Maewest I got visitors on Tues night and slapped in a video to tape Coro but taped the wrong channel. Lucky a workmate taped it so I have just finished watching it. Sure you are sooooo much better than Eileen on the switch!!!!

landylass (49 )    5:06 pm, 17 Aug

Having a great time

but have my weepy moments in the evenings. Lumps are hurting and my back is back to major pain - glad I brought pain killers! Massage made it worse #sigh# But loving swimming with the girls it hasa cool twirly waterslide which we all love (a slip at the top is what put my back out - at least I was having fun ;o) Scrapbooking in the evenings have done 6 pages so far, getting better as I go, much happier with these latest efforst ;o) All good, enema was a laugh but apparently according to the directions it absorbs straight in the liver, so given thats where the new cancer is - ATTACK! We'll be doing it again tonight (Lucky us!) Oh well, back to socialise. What a flash house they, have, still finishing construction, right on river... Niiiice! OK bye all :o) Later!

soniat-d (153 )    5:13 pm, 17 Aug

Hey Sonia

maewest (79 )    6:12 pm, 17 Aug

Hi Maewest

Geez Josh must have given you guys a big scare, glad you sorted it out though. I guess he won't be doing that again even as a joke!!

janetmk1 (40 )    7:00 pm, 17 Aug

Hi Meridian

Jordan is 10 and thankyou :)) As for the kids loving me dearly hahahaha!!! I don't think they realise how much I do for them, they are just so used to having a "slave" and yes the youngest calls me that(hes a cheeky bugger), one day they will realise!!

janetmk1 (40 )    7:05 pm, 17 Aug

Hi Paula

It must be so lovely having all those little bundles everywhere, hard work too. Hows Josh doing? If the emulator needs updating we can just do the same as last time if it suits you? I am stuck at home for a month with Jordan so I am always near the computer.

janetmk1 (40 )    7:08 pm, 17 Aug

I hope you are looking after yourself too over in oz. What a special friend you are:))

janetmk1 (40 )    7:10 pm, 17 Aug

Hugggssss for Sonia

we are all thinking of you :)))

janetmk1 (40 )    7:12 pm, 17 Aug

Hi Sonia, good to see you posting while on hoiday.

I had been thinking about you while I was having the chemo today, and hoping the weather was glorious, and you are having heaps of fun. And what do you know? You are!! Sporry the lumps and the back are causing you some grief, but just hang in there Sonia, keepup the treatment you are having and sort out whats next when you get home. Easy for me to say try not to stress and worry, because sometimes its not that easy, I know! We all love you and care about you and are here to offer comfort and positiveness to you and your family like you have for us. See you again soon. Take care, stay strong, sword up and have lots of fun. (((((HUGS))))))to you all....

joystik (286 )    7:30 pm, 17 Aug

Hi Maewest, lovely to see you have been out and

about with the girls, and enjoying the day. Makes a pleasant change from working doesn't it. I know Cust area quite well. Kevin spent a bit of his childhood there and in Oxford too actually. We have friends in Oxford and Kevins sister lived in Cust until about 2 years ago. It really is a small world isnt it.

joystik (286 )    7:33 pm, 17 Aug

Yah Joystik

another round of chemo closer to being finished!

landylass (49 )    7:33 pm, 17 Aug

Hi Landylass, YES! only 2 to go now.........

The next one they want to do on the friday instead of thursday because of the neutrophils. As expected, as each dose has been given then neuts. have been slower coming back, only by a few points, but they want to give the next one closer to 2 than under that level. She thought REST might be what is required! Yeah right....I dont put much rest into any sentence let alone any day! Last time the count was 1.83 and this time it was only 1.77 so its not down a lot but enough. It all went really well today through the port. And so far no side effects.....YAY!!!!

joystik (286 )    7:39 pm, 17 Aug

I was a bit dissappointed when Dr North upped

the amount of Radiotherapy from 15 to 25 treatments, but he said at this stage its better to be safe than sorry, especially with the nodes at the base of the neck, which cant be removed. We will find plenty to do up there. I will check out that Cancer house and have a nice brochure about it here. Although Kevin is adament that he wants to be there for me, and one of Laurens friends Mum's has said she will have Lauren, so I guess its not a biggy in lots of ways....Sounds like you've been busy....nice warm sunny days make you pleased to be alive no matter what you do in the day..

joystik (286 )    7:42 pm, 17 Aug

I must say too landylass, I share your sentiment

about your daughter roaming round over seas with her friend at 18. That would really scare me if it was my daughter too. My friends son just went to Thailand for 8 days. He is 25, but not at all street wise, and got robbed in Singapore of $2000 and his mobile phone, beore he even got to Thailand. His parents stressed the entire time he was away, especially his Mum, and it ended up costing them so much extra, with having to send him money, phone calls to Thailand etc. I know this doesnt happen to most people but it does happen....No wonder you are not happy....((((HUGS))))) to you.....

joystik (286 )    7:48 pm, 17 Aug

still saving the thread each day

hope you are all having a great day. Lovely to hear from you Sonia. Take care Trish

trishm (34 )    7:50 pm, 17 Aug

Thanks too landylass for posting about your neice.

She is a lovely person to do what she has done for her friends at such a traumatic time in their lives. She will have total empathy for how they feel, having been in the same position. And a big sacrifice leaving behind her own hubby, who is sick too and missing her daughters birthday......She is certainly another of lifes Treasures....

joystik (286 )    7:51 pm, 17 Aug

Thanks trishm, for saving the thread.....

You never know whats likely to happen, and when you see posts like #3094, it does make you wonder?? Hope you have had a lovely day today too....see you again soon.....

joystik (286 )    7:53 pm, 17 Aug

Hi everyone , another good day on the farm today

Yes there is a countdown going on here as the bus bringing my wife and daughter home from Timaru is less than 3 hours away !! But to be honest I am proud of the way we boys have handled the chores and really there is only a little teensy weensy bit of shopping I need to rush of and do before shops close.

farmerlloyd (24 )    7:59 pm, 17 Aug

It was just so good

to see that Sonia was able to say hi, I think . I just have to do this now .. It is My First Time ... " Waves to Sonia and Family !!!!" Gee, that was easy

farmerlloyd (24 )    8:02 pm, 17 Aug

aaaahhhhhhhh I can't watch coro st.

The males all want to watch Amearican choppers :(( so if I want to watch coro st I have to go into a cold room. Sometimes its a pain being outnumbered!!

janetmk1 (40 )    8:09 pm, 17 Aug

Gee farmerlloyd, you better have the place up to

scratch ready for when the family returns in a few short hours!!! I'm sure you will, you're good like that......

joystik (286 )    8:09 pm, 17 Aug

Hi farmerlloyd

The dishes all done? coffee ready to pour ? What a good bunch of guys you all must be!!

janetmk1 (40 )    8:11 pm, 17 Aug

Can your daughter go on one of the organised bus tours? Safer than travelling unguided. I do understand the way you must be feeling. She sounds as stubborn as I was so she will never listen but maybe a gentle nudge in the right direction might help change her plans in a safer direction.

janetmk1 (40 )    8:16 pm, 17 Aug

Hi Joystik:))

Glad to see you sound as cheerful as always :)) It is really great that the treatment has very little side effects for you. Hope you do get some rest though :))

janetmk1 (40 )    8:18 pm, 17 Aug

hi everyone

another good day today, more food (toast) is being consumed, Ryan was off his pole for about an hour today so we got to go down to ronald mcdonald house and meet some of the all blacks that were there, will post pics on photobucket tonight.

bogeyi (484 )    8:44 pm, 17 Aug

Hi meridian, what a lot of imformation you were

able to provide for hardyro, to help prepare for her reconstruction. It is so helpful to hear of personal experiences of people that have been through the same op. I was pleased to talk to other woman who had been through a Bi-lateral mastectomy so I knew what expect, and the information truly invaluable. Glad your Lennon is much better too, meridian.....((((HUGS))))

joystik (286 )    8:58 pm, 17 Aug

Hi everyone

Wow - how lovely to hear from Sonia - I could feel the warmth coming from her message. Hi Sonia - great to hear from you xoxo. Bogeyi - That is way cool that you got to go out and meet the All Blacks. Awesome! Janet thanks for the offer I will let you know if we need to do that again - you are so lovely xo. Landylass - Dize5 is a special lady. What a lot she has been through - this wonderful thing she is doing for her friend will be hard too, like reliving it, but what a fantastic support she is! Hugs to you and your family. Hi Joystik loved the text. Glad to hear your treatment today went ok. Love to everyone xoxo

paulaxx (78 )    9:05 pm, 17 Aug

Hi Bogeyi and RYAN, so good to see you have been

Hi Boop

Yes its a long road for our Josh. Cass is great thanks - I do try to spoil her - its great having mum here!!!! Cass wanted to come and feed the calves with me today so that was something we did together, she got absolutely filthy, being her usual adventurous self left me to go off and play in a pile of clay instead, kept bringing me big lumps back saying look its bigger now, look mum its even bigger now. She is so cute! It is a busy time now so Im off to get an early night. Take care. Hugs to all my friends out there xo

paulaxx (78 )    9:16 pm, 17 Aug

I used to when I fed calves........When does Josh find out if he has to have the bonchioscopy? Will that be in Kew as well? Thinking of you guys lots too, and Nana and Teddy too...((((((((HUGS)))))))))

joystik (286 )    9:17 pm, 17 Aug

hi landylass

I would not like my teenager going around Europe far too young. Our youngest went over when he was about 25 rang us from Israel at 2am he was dilerious(SP) with blood poisoning that was so scary being so far away. They really are a worry at any age.kiwikaz is doing a lovely thing for her friend. I hope the wee break does her good too.

boop2 (111 )    9:22 pm, 17 Aug

Haven't been on the computer

much lately so haven't been keeping up with this thread. Hope everyone's had a good day. It was lovely here in Christchurch. Got hot walking to the hospital for an appointment with my thyroid surgeon. Found out it's been put on hold. Had a pre-surgery CT scan a few weeks ago and it showed a suspicious area in my back. Am having a bone scan tomorrow to check if it is the breast cancer, which they think it is, or something else. Will then see the med onc in about a week to see what happens next.

nztrader2004 (501 )    9:23 pm, 17 Aug

Hey Joystik

You should see me!!! PVC leggings, beanie - yea lippy!!!!! But nothing else. In the make up line that is! Usually at least once a season I pour milk over myself! Thats a bit of a joke, have it dripping off the fringe etc. MMMM yummy!!!! Dont know about the bronchoscopy yet, maybe Christchurch maybe Kew?? Waiting to hear what Christchurch say. He looked pale tonight, he gets tired so easily. Tonight he wanted to play his CD so I told him he could on the computer, they were calling me for ages. When I finally finished the dishes and came to see what they were doing he and Cass had Crazy Frog bursting out with all the lights off in the office. Watching the designs on Media Player. So we all had to have a groove and then I put them to bed. Never a dull moment in this house - love to you xoxo

paulaxx (78 )    9:23 pm, 17 Aug

joystik (286 )    9:29 pm, 17 Aug

boop2 (111 )    9:35 pm, 17 Aug

Did get some good news though.

Sarah my 11yr old daughter passed her grade 3 jazz dance exam which was on Saturday. She got Very Highly Commended. Which is her best result yet. She also got results this week for the Uni of NSW English test for Year 7 and she got High Distinction which is 'better than or equal to that of 99% of Year 7 participants in NZ'. She was the only one in her school to get one too.

nztrader2004 (501 )    9:37 pm, 17 Aug

Oh YAY good on you Paula, pleased to hear I'm not

the onloy one to wear makeup in the calf shed!! Who knows who you are likely to see while you are out and about anyway. Oh yeah and milk over the head would be charming, just charming. Much like calves sucking the back of your pants legs, or your hair while bending down unhitching the trailer!! Been there - done that too. Lovely to hear your two little munchkins are happy, blees them....

joystik (286 )    9:39 pm, 17 Aug

NZ trader, thanks so much for popping in and

adding to this ever increasing thread of positiveness. Hope all goes really well with your bone scan tomorrow. I will be thinking of you and look forward to your next post tomorrow with good news on the health front (((HUGS))))

joystik (286 )    9:41 pm, 17 Aug

Hi maewest

glad you had a nice day.Josh is a popular name on here isn't it I have a grandson Josh as well. How's the knitting going? You must admit Eileen is lovely but street cars I don't think so. I am so sick of Shelley when will it all end.My great grandmother is buried in the Oxford cemetery she walked from Lyttleton to Oxford when they arrived on a ship hard to imagine. I went there with my uncle about ten years ago and he said if the school bell rang now all his class mates would rise up out of there he was 92. Granny Freshwater was her name I have never heard it anywhere else.

boop2 (111 )    9:43 pm, 17 Aug

Boop, what about Buff Beauty? Is that perfumed??

What colour do you prefer? Compassion is beautiful if you can get that climbing. It is apricot /pink tonings. I have a book here I could look up if I know what colour you like...

joystik (287 )    9:43 pm, 17 Aug

I had buff beauty at my last house

and it had a beautiful perfume but fancy maybe dark red this time . I have a pink one. thanks joystick

boop2 (112 )    9:47 pm, 17 Aug

Wow, you must be so proud of your girl. I was just playing the proud mum about a week ago because my daughter got a distinction in the NSW english exam for year 6. She was better than or equal to 97% of participants in NZ, and the only one in her school to get a distinction. Don't we have clever daughters!!!! Good luck with your bone scan tomorrow - I will be thinking of you.

meridian1 (300 )    9:48 pm, 17 Aug

Hi globalandworlds, so pleased to see you again

and pleased you have to report on a lovely sunny day in Rotorua too. It was fab here too. I think being busy is a good way to be and especially if you can regulate how busy you want to be. Glad the kids are ok too. Teenagers go thru that stage of not wanting to eat unhealthy things dont they, but that good. Life is about making choices and we like to think they can make the right ones. ((HUGS)))) to you all too.

joystik (287 )    9:48 pm, 17 Aug

Yeah, I was busy on here wasn't I? All of those posts were done in an hour though - I was typing my little fingers off! Hope you've had a lovely day!

Hey Janet

Your boys will realise just how much you do for them when they have children themselves. I think you are fantastic. Poor Jordan - I thought he was a little older than that. How long does each bout last?

meridian1 (300 )    9:55 pm, 17 Aug

Hi Joystick

joystik (287 )    9:58 pm, 17 Aug

Cool photos bogeyi

That must have been a real buzz for Ryan. I bet he was knackered after such a big day with all that excitement. YAY RYAN - YOU GO KIDDO!!!

meridian1 (300 )    10:01 pm, 17 Aug

Hope you got the place sorted Farmerlloyd!!

The family must be almost home by now! So now you are a wee hobby farmer with your small fock of ewes? That seems like a nice managable number to me anyway. Sometimes sheep dont have a lot of brain cells operating at once do they??I saw one out here in the neighbours paddock, with its head thru a square netting fence. It spent the whole day, pushing trying to get it whole body thru a 8" x 6" hole, where as 1 step backwards would have seen it out!! In fact it had gone right along the fince line putting it head in and out through these meshs and then just forgot what to do I guess!! I must go to bed on that note, and will see you again tomorrow too.....

joystik (287 )    10:09 pm, 17 Aug

He is buggered, although we had a

wheelchair to go down in he did walk a little as another child got really sick so rayn handed over the chair, he is fast asleep......only hope nothing is brewing, me being paranoid.

bogeyi (484 )    10:18 pm, 17 Aug

Evening all

Spose everyone has gone to too shortly. I haven't been able to get near the computer tonight...he's been on it!!! Great pics Bogey. I bet Ryan enjoyed that. Would have made his day. So cool that he is able to get out and about. We such huge progress every day. Ryan...YOU ROCK!!!

maewest (79 )    10:20 pm, 17 Aug

Bogeyi the photos are just lovely. Nice they get

some special treats while they are stuck in there isnt it. Hope he has a good sleep tonight, probably just tired out from all the excitement of the day. Here's hoping anyway. Fingers crossed.

joystik (287 )    10:21 pm, 17 Aug

I'm sure it's just all the excitement of the day. You sleep well too (((HUGS))) XXX

maewest (79 )    10:21 pm, 17 Aug

Hi Joystik

you amazing lady. Going through so much yourself and yet so thoughtful and kind to everyone else. Hope the side effects stay at bay once again for you. Have you heard any more news on the job front?

maewest (79 )    10:23 pm, 17 Aug

I Janet, boy I really feel for you with your boys

suffering such problems. You are a super mum to them and are just there for them always. Hopefully Jordan will grow out of the vertigo thing sooner rather than later. Is Danny showing much signs of improvement? I say a wee prayer for them every day, as well as you Janet and everyone else on here. Keep smiling and (((HUGS)))) to you all....

joystik (287 )    10:24 pm, 17 Aug

All the best of luck for tomorrow and your CT scan. Look forward to hearing from you tomorrow night.Hope you manage to have a good sleep. (((HUGS)))

maewest (79 )    10:25 pm, 17 Aug

Hi maewest, the latest on the job front from today

is that my friend and I have to present a proposal to the Big Boss man on tuesday, outlining exactly how we seee our partnership running within the firm. It all seems quite foreign to him but very straightforward to us. I have been busy writing it all up tonight. Its still in the pipeline, and being negotiated. Seems very longwinded to me though. The thing for me is that I need to go with my friend so she can cover for me while I'm away having Radiotherapy. I'm certainly not mentioning it to anyone else there. Love to you Maewest and thanks for you encouragement!!

joystik (287 )    10:28 pm, 17 Aug

Haha Boop

Don't you find it scary..not so long ago the AB's were such men and now most of them look like bits of boys!!!! Hehe. Surely it is not us getting older??? I agree with you..the Shelley saga has got to end. When I first joined the taxis our dispatching was done the same way as Eileen (well not quite the same!!!) but now it is all computerised, as is everything these days. Still get to talk on the radio to the drivers though.

maewest (79 )    10:28 pm, 17 Aug

Sorry if I have missed anyone today........

I'm off to bed now seeing as I am supposed to be resting more. I will see you all again tomorrow, and send you all sweet dreams......(((((HUGS))))))

joystik (287 )    10:29 pm, 17 Aug

boop omg hes a hunk

i would love to take him home......yummmmmmmmmmmmmm

bogeyi (484 )    10:30 pm, 17 Aug

good luck with that. It sure does seem a bit long winded. I see it is a boss MAN...say no more!!! Lol!!

maewest (79 )    10:30 pm, 17 Aug

did you get a hug too from Aaron Mauger too? You lucky devil!!

maewest (79 )    10:31 pm, 17 Aug

Oops sorry Farmerlloyd

not all men...just boss men!! You will be enjoying having your family all together again. I remember coming home from holiday some years ago and my man had decided to rip the bathroom out. Nice thought, but what a mess!!! And the ironing was up to the roof!!! Hope you are having a lovely evening.

Nice that you have time with Cassie on the farm. She will be enjoying that. Has she got any more earrings yet? What a super Mum you are. Have a lovely day tomorrow and don't work too hard.XX

maewest (79 )    10:36 pm, 17 Aug

it's a wonder the pics were in focus!!Bryan Williams was my idol...boy that ages me!! I remember working in a hotel some years ago when he was coaching the Akld side. They were staying in house. I mentioned to someone that I thought BG was pretty cool. She then proceeded to tell him..he called me over and gave me big kiss in front of the whole restaurant..I didn't know where to put myself!!!

maewest (79 )    10:39 pm, 17 Aug

globalandworlds (4)    10:44 pm, 17 Aug

Hi Meridian

Jordan has each bout for a month every 3rd month, its handy in a way coz we know when its coming, but its every feb, may, aug, and nov like clockwork. When I ask the experts why, noone knows so its a bit strange. Hes up and alert now and will stay this way till about 2 or 3am. Then we finally get some sleep but i have to be up early to get Ryan to school so I can't wait for the weekend to catch up on sleep.

janetmk1 (40 )    10:50 pm, 17 Aug

Hi im Karen.Whats up with the lateness and No sleep.Hope all is ok.God Bless

globalandworlds (4)    10:56 pm, 17 Aug

bogeyi (484 )    10:57 pm, 17 Aug

bogey I think he is too

and a damn good player.Boo hoo my sons are older than him god I am getting old but but but not too old that I don't appreciate a handsome guy like Aaron. janet how old is Ryan is he the baby?

boop2 (112 )    10:58 pm, 17 Aug

Thanks Joystik :))

Danny is the same still in his room all day, I managed to get him to have a shower today which is progress. I have to be really careful how I handle him as he looks to me for support and doesn't like to be told anything. So when i want him to take a shower or similar I have to suggest it gently (bit like stepping on broken glass) The reason to treat him like that is he is also suffering paranoia. My next big job tomorrow is to get him to take his sheets off his bed. Sounds really stupid I know but everything is a major effort and his room is like his world so I can't just go and get them or it upsets him. Something I try very hard not to do.

janetmk1 (40 )    10:59 pm, 17 Aug

well I am off to my lovely bed

with my good Audrey Howard book. night everyone.

boop2 (112 )    11:01 pm, 17 Aug

Hi Karen

One of my kids, Jordan 10, suffers from a condition that makes him very dizzy and vomit for a month at a time, hes very light sensitive while hes like this, so avoids daytime and lives in the dark basically. Hes happy right now as its dark so nothing will trigger it usually.hopefully he will grow out of it at puberty :))

janetmk1 (40 )    11:03 pm, 17 Aug

Hi bogeyi :))

glad you guys had such a good day.. I often think of you both. Jordan is 10 and happy as larry right now unlike me who would love some sleep lol

janetmk1 (40 )    11:04 pm, 17 Aug

Nite Boop

Sleep well :))

janetmk1 (40 )    11:05 pm, 17 Aug

meridian1 (300 )    11:07 pm, 17 Aug

janetmk1 does he have to take a month

of school, does he play with any friends during this time or is it not possible..

bogeyi (484 )    11:09 pm, 17 Aug

God Bless ya babe

U need the blessing's.I will pray for you when i go to bed,That when i pray.So is this something to do with the sunlight or something.Yea i hope he does grow out of it at puberty.Ive got 2 kids going through that at the moment.Jessie is the worst. She is 16 and Cam well he is confused and is still trying to figure himself out.He is 12.And they are both going on 21.Cam worries me sometimes because of his quiteness.I try so much to be there for him but its like he shoves me out of the way.(((Sigh)) youve got to luv them dont ya. Karen.

globalandworlds (4)    11:09 pm, 17 Aug

Hi boop

Sorry I just read your question, Ryan is the middle son 13. He is the well one, though I had my years with him being very ill with encephalitus. But hes a happy healthy young cheeky lad now, who hates school and will do anything possible not to go. He rarely ever has a full week at school!!yet hes up with his peers so hopefully college will make him focus a bit more. He wants a career in computer game development and has picked out a uni in oz to attend so he better start to work a bit harder or he will be filling shelves at woolworths for a career!!!

janetmk1 (40 )    11:11 pm, 17 Aug

yes he has a month off at a time and can't play with anyone as he can't move very far or very fast as it triggers the dizziness. Plus hes in bed most of the day. His friends at school seem to accept that he has an illness and he fits straight back in with them. But it is a boring month for him. bit like your son, he lives on xbox or computer games till hes well enough to do other things.

janetmk1 (40 )    11:15 pm, 17 Aug

The doctors eachhave different opinions but themain theory is its related to migraines.

janetmk1 (40 )    11:17 pm, 17 Aug

U have had a rough run havnt u janetmk1

Yea Cameron doesnt like school as well.He would prefer to sleep all day and eat the house out.I make the kids make there own lunches now.Im a solo Mum.I divorced my ex husband for having an affair. But Cam is the same.He wants to be in Law and i told him the same thing. If u dont pull finger you will be working in a supermarket or pumping petrol.Jess luvs school. She's aiming for accounting.Good on her.She gets real good marks as well.

globalandworlds (4)    11:23 pm, 17 Aug

Bula all

Brents just let me in now - so can only talk a mo - must hit the hay! Thanks for all your kind wishes all :o) I'm enjoying things as best I can but its hard as these lumps are growing like weeds on a watered lawn - new ones bulging out now above my former cleavage, all over my upper right torso really. This monster grows so fast, this 10 days seems like an eternity from that perspective... I sure needed this holiday - but not like this! Part of me is itching to get home, but during the day when playing with my girls the worries fade - lots of smiles ;o) Sure hope the oncologist is doing all he can for me while I'm away. Its action stations when we return!

soniat-d (153 )    11:44 pm, 17 Aug

Sonia Darling how are ya

Good to hear from you.Karen here.If u ever feel the need or would like to tell me about your gorgeous trip to Fiji.Besides the back. Well hope you had a good day today.Hope pain has calmed down for a bit.Luv Karen,

I think its good you're getting more radiation Joystik, wish my oncologists hadn't been so softly softly with me - may have been a better outcome - certainly hope it is for you. Hi and good luck to everyone else, am trying to read through this thread, but its on and on! Thanks everyone for keeping it alive. Now time to hit the sack xoxoxoxoxoxo

Good morning to everyone this morning

Hi Joystik, wishing you all the best for you proposal. It makes sense to me, for you to approach this job in the way you are, so lets hope the "man" involved sees the sense of it also . And really I do have enough else to be going on with on my farm. Although I am 100 ewes down at the moment , I still have about 2750 hoggets and about 120 cattle to tend to. But am really enjoying the mild days of late.

farmerlloyd (24 )    7:42 am, 18 Aug

Our two tired travellers arrived home around 10.30 last nite, pleased to be home. Unfortunately I was called away before they arrived ( to to an unexpected baby sitting job ) so didn't get back from that until about 3 am . Oh well, there will be lots of story telling here when young miss 14 surfaces

Hi evryone ;o)

Suns out today - gorgeous :o) We're staying at the Sofitel on Denerau Island - it is fabulous! The pool goes on and on, lagoon-style. The resorts about 1/3 full maybe (best guess) so its devine. Great rooms, awesome service, heaps to do, I'm thinking of parasailing later, always wanted to try that! Meeting lots of fellow Kiwis ;o) We've got 24 hours of internet, finishing about 8.00 tonight, not sure if I'll be able to get back much. Love to you all xoxoxoxoxo

had a wee look at your holiday pics . they are lovely happiness and sunshine :)

kiwikaz3 (16 )    1:13 pm, 18 Aug

regarding the photos

can some one give me a few pointers on how you but them into the thread i have never done it.???

kiwikaz3 (16 )    1:20 pm, 18 Aug

Sonia :))

Sounds absolutely lovely where your staying. Sonia if you can grab a wheat bag and heat it till its very hot, wrap it in a towel and get Brent to put it on exactly where the pain is. You need to lie down with a pillow under your chest and a pillow at the very top of your thighs (move them round till its comfortable for you. put your chin at the end of the bed and get a chair or somthing to support your forehead, so your back/neck is straight. If you lie with the heat pack on for 20- 30 mins morning and night it should give you some relief from the pain. To get you through the rest of the day rub oruvail gel on it regularly. Doctor should be able to give you something similar if not oruval gel it contains "ketoprofen". This should give you relief till you get back to nz.

janetmk1 (40 )    1:20 pm, 18 Aug

Hi Everyone

Big Waves to Sonia and family. Hi, I hope the appointment at the dr goes well and he/she can help you in some way. Been busy feeding calves and feeding out Silage, then bringing cows amd calves in. Sorry I cant chat - thinking of you all with love. Hugs and kisses Paula and Joshi. xoxo Bogeyi - YAY for you and Ryan, keep up the great work xo

paulaxx (78 )    3:47 pm, 18 Aug

some advise please

I am still reading this thread and taking alot out of your bravery. What I want to know is - how to make the anniversary of my dear friend as easy as possible for her family, it is just coming up a year and unfortunately, I am not going to be with the family, instead 100s of miles away. Any suggestions would be greatlfully recieved. She was like my sister and anything to help her kids would be awesome.

tinkerbellsmum (57 )    4:13 pm, 18 Aug

Hope that Dr has helped the

back problems Sonia. Not fair to be hurting on holiday on top of everything else! Janet my mr14 wants to be a game tester! He sure spends enough time practicing. Pity he can't do a subject in that for NCEA! Kiwikaz hope you are enjoying your break. Pity it wasn't another week to let you get back to your old hometown, but I guess the kids and Mr would be upset not being there if you did that. Safe trip home.

landylass (49 )    4:37 pm, 18 Aug

lol Landylass

thats for sure,mr 13 had another day off today ughhhh.... his teacher has even tried to accomodate him by allowing him to write essays about gaming. Doesn't seem to make it any easier getting him to school though and after a night up with Jordan the last thing I wanted to do was argue with him about school so I gave in. So he spent the gaming as usual. What games does your son play?

janetmk1 (40 )    4:56 pm, 18 Aug

Hi all :o)

Doc was useless! That's Nadi for you LOL Asked me to bend over frontways to my toes, I could do that almost and then he said, well thats not too bad and told me to take the meds I already have?! I complained that he hadn't examined me properly but he sat in his chair #sigh# Painkillers working well, sadly have no wheatbag here Janetmk1, but have the purple stuff, getting Brent to massage me with that tonight. Off soon to watch the Fijian Meke show (singing and dancing) soon, not sure if I'll get back on before my time runs out (we get 24 hours at a set rate, which finishes around 8pm). We'll probably get on again early next week sometime, hugs to all of you till then ;o) xoxoxoxo

soniat-d (153 )    5:00 pm, 18 Aug

Oh, GORGEOUS day now BTW :o)

Lydia and I are just back from a stroll around the resort, Lydia collected a coconut, palm leaves, seed pods etc, and brought them all back to our rooms. She's working out what to do with them all now LOL

soniat-d (153 )    5:02 pm, 18 Aug

paulaxx (78 )    5:59 pm, 18 Aug

Hi boop,

Your rose sounds lovely, my roses are looking a bit sad on it at the moment. I think its all the rain and not much sun, all my plants could do with a good dose of sunlight. Jordan is just the same, starting to liven up now that its night time.

janetmk1 (40 )    7:38 pm, 18 Aug

hi Paula

thats great that Josh is doing so well :)) Sounds like a lot of fun with your babies all day, must be great feeding them, how many do you have to feed?

soniat-d (153 )    7:57 pm, 18 Aug

I just got an amazing email from someone who went to my school (a good few years behind me). She came across my webpage, read my cancer diary and apparently I've given her the incentive she needed to get out, live, and be more positive about her life. Never flown from fear, just booked a trip to Oz etc. Cool :o)

fifie (139 )    9:05 pm, 18 Aug

Well done

KiwiKaz - gorgeous photo, beautiful kids. Hi Janet, hope your days been a goody. Joystik, hope you are ok???? Hi Boop and Maewest - had a fun day out on the farm. A cow had it in for me - she is a very posessive mum and when we took her calf out of the paddock she turned on me - it was so funny! Chris and Paul stepped in to tell her where to go and I ended up on my butt inches away from a rather wet cow you know what. Havent laughed like that for ages. I was a bit scared though. Got the old adrenalin going thats for sure. We have 416 odd to calve about 60 ish in now so still a long way to go. Be a lot different when mum goes back. So am making the most of having her here for the next 10 days or so. Thinking of you xo

paulaxx (78 )    9:11 pm, 18 Aug

Dearest Sonia

I am thinking of you all the time!!!! I cant imagine what you are going through, your photos are absolutely beautiful. I really feel for you hun and send you lots of love and hugs xoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxox

paulaxx (78 )    9:14 pm, 18 Aug

Hi everyone, what a busy day all round! I had to

get working on this proposal for the Real estate Man. What a mission. I have done heaps of other stuff, and No rsting so far, but I might go to bed a bit earlier tonight......

joystik (287 )    9:18 pm, 18 Aug

well done kiwikaz your kids look like

they were really enjoying themselves. Paula glad to hear josh is good he deserves a break..

bogeyi (484 )    9:21 pm, 18 Aug

Oh Paula, sorry to be laughing but that did sound

so funny and would have looked hilarious too. That is so long as you didnt hurt your self. They can be very posessive and can make a lot of scarey noises when you start to handle their little baby. So you have about 480 all together to calve?? Thats heaps. Lots of hungry wee mouths to feed twice a day. Hasn't it been warm today?? Well it was here sun just warm and breezy. Had gales about 4am when I was lying awake wishing I didnt have to take steroids!! Love and hugs to you guys......

joystik (287 )    9:22 pm, 18 Aug

Kiwikaz, thanks for posting the pic of your kids..

they look like they are having a great time, and its not long til you will be back home again. Glad your friend came through the Op not to bad. Take care and keep smiling wont you.....

joystik (287 )    9:24 pm, 18 Aug

wow thats a lot of calves and you have to feed them all?? sorry a bit naive when it comes to farming so really don't understand any of it other than feeding the calves must be so much fun!!

janetmk1 (40 )    9:25 pm, 18 Aug

Hi Maewest, no riding the bike today, cos remember

I am supposed to be resting. So look out tomorrow. I havent really rested much but didnt bike anywhere. No side effects so far and not even any real nausea after the Zofran wore off, so that was good too. I hate taking all those drugs anyway. I dont know leaping salmon either but I would suppose its apricot too. My favourite would still be compassion. I had school girl which is orange as well as the Bantry bay and Dublin bay, which also looks lovely with a climbing Ice-burg. Hope you have had a good day today too....

joystik (287 )    9:55 pm, 18 Aug

Hi janet

I thought you had put a photo on went to look and saw a row of empty seats! What does Danny do all day in his room ? Hope you get a sleep to night, HUgs

boop2 (112 )    9:55 pm, 18 Aug

Hi Janet, sorry about not being able to get the

jolly sheets off,but like you say, tomorrow is another day! Its not the end of the world. Poor Jordan, and poor you being up half the night too. Good you can sleep in a bit in the morning. You're quite conversant with the computer stuff aren't you? It took me ages to get a pic onto here too. (((HUGS))) to you all....

joystik (287 )    9:59 pm, 18 Aug

hi maewest

glad you had heard of that rose there wasn't a lot to pick from here. He tried to talk me into iceburg or dublin bay but I wanted a nice perfume and I don't think they have. Enjoy your visitors I am looking forward to my Tuesday ones we have been good friends for over 40 years. He hates me having naughty jokes on here he just doesn't like them so love to tease him Marie has a good laugh. Men. I won't send anymore jokes will leave them to joystick to send on. Night

boop2 (112 )    10:01 pm, 18 Aug

boop2 (112 )    10:04 pm, 18 Aug

what a coincidence

that the majority of the replies are from those with lots of stars ...hmmmm if it is purely a coincidence than my apologies but if not, fore shame!

kdvd4pc (62 )    10:06 pm, 18 Aug

boop2 (112 )    10:11 pm, 18 Aug

Hows things Boop?? I could leave you to send

the jokes on to Maewest if you want too. I dont mind. Sometimes I dont send them everyday, and she probably gets 20 at once like you do when I send them on to you. I just tried to get onto the Matthews roses online shop site but the server was down. Wanted to look at Leaping Slamon. Did you buy it?? Hey and (((HUGS)))) to you boop2.....

joystik (287 )    10:12 pm, 18 Aug

I didnt understand that post either Boop......

wonder just what it means....

joystik (287 )    10:13 pm, 18 Aug

Hi joystick

I wish you all the luck with that job hope it goes well for you. No, I will leave them for you. I double up a lot at times too same friends same emails. What have you got planned for the weekend? I can't believe the lovely weather we have here we are so lucky doesn't look good for the weekend though. WE had an invite today to a barbecue at Mohikinui next month an 80th it just seems the other day we went to his 70th. Time is marching on. We met these guys years ago when we camped next to them for whitebaiting they are lovely. All whitebaiters are when you meet them off the river different story on there at times.REST OVER WEEKEND

boop2 (112 )    10:20 pm, 18 Aug

post 3285 what the hell are you on about???

hi guys we are here, I am going to battle tomorrow with the nutritionist they are so blah blah blah and love there numbers push push push. Ryans doing really well with his eating but they still want to push his NG feed, well I say no more and will say something tomorrow. Hows everyone else.

bogeyi (484 )    10:22 pm, 18 Aug

Sonia, your pics are just beautiful. Love the one

of you and the little girls, they really are gorgeous. You hair is quite wavy isnt it and has grown such a lot since the last ic I have up here. I have just printed the new one off and will put that up now! Thanks for that. Sorry you are distracted somewhat by your lumpy places! Would have been nice for you not to have had that to worry about for the 10 days at least, but it wasn't to be. You will have it all under control when you get back. Sword high love and Fight, Fight, Fight. We are all here for you....dont foget that will you.. ((((HUGS)))) to you all...

joystik (287 )    10:23 pm, 18 Aug

I am going to look up roses now

I think it a David Austin rose. Canterbury won tonight they beat Southland. Ben Blair played so well did you know he came from little old Hector population 300?

boop2 (112 )    10:24 pm, 18 Aug

Just popping back

in to say goodnight to you all. I have a 7am (up at 5.45) start tomorrow so had better get myself to bed.Hey Boop & Joystik, I wish I hadn't mentioned all the emails now. I luv getting them from both of you. With broadband it's not a biggie! It's double the laughs. Good to hear you are feeling ok Joystik. Long may it continue. Boop I have never been whitebaiting. I hear it can get a bit 'ratty'on the riverbank!! Have a lovely weekend the pair of you XXXX

maewest (79 )    10:27 pm, 18 Aug

some people are weird

they post a stupid message with no meaning and then bugger off, good riddance

boop2 (112 )    10:27 pm, 18 Aug

Yeah you go Bogeyi, they dont always no every

thing do they. Sounds like he's eating fine now anyway. His mouth is obviously a lot better or he wouldn't be able to eat. Why then does he still require NG feeds?? The pics with the All Blacks were lovely by the way....Dont know if I said that already or not. I'm good today after chemo, no real side effects except from the steroids and the anti nausea Zofran, makes me a bit kinda jittery, if you know what I mean. Feel like I have a slight touch or Parkinsons!! Hope you have a good night tonight and Ryan continues to make good progress....(((HUGS)))) to you both...

joystik (287 )    10:27 pm, 18 Aug

good luck with you battle tomorrow. Like Joystik I can't understand why he still needs NG feeds when he is eating so much TOAST!! Hope the pair of you have a comfortable and restful night. (((HUGS)))

maewest (79 )    10:29 pm, 18 Aug

Hey Maewest and you too. What an early start!!

I have been whitebaiting a few times, but it didnt turn me on at all either!! I will send you some emails and Boop can send you some too! You will probably still get the same ones twice, but you can hit delete I guess. Love to you Maewest too....Take care...

joystik (287 )    10:29 pm, 18 Aug

missymuffit (3 )    10:31 pm, 18 Aug

maewest (79 )    10:33 pm, 18 Aug

boop2 (112 )    10:34 pm, 18 Aug

there are some people

that really p### me off nothing better to do

boop2 (112 )    10:37 pm, 18 Aug

Boop thats pretty, I had High Hopes and Golden

Future growing one up each side of my New wrought Iron archway in Oamaru. They were just beautiful and a dopey man came and fell a tree on the neighbours property and smashed the whole lot to the ground. Dim witted B*****d. Tried to stand it all up again butit was actually broken, like the roses were and I ended up pulling it all down cos it looked so terrible. And he didnt mention that he had been down the bank on my side of the fence, and had smashed big branches off my margaruite daisy bushes. Do I still sound unimpressed? That was over 2 years ago....Some people...

joystik (287 )    10:48 pm, 18 Aug

Hi Global, sorry about your fall and your resultin

bad neck. Hope you manages to get it feeling a bit better and have relief from it tonight. Sore necks rank right up there with sore backs aye Sonia. Thinking of you too Global and love to you all....

joystik (287 )    10:49 pm, 18 Aug

Hi Farmer lloyd and Landy lass, you are lucky

last tonight. Your family arrived up late didnt they? You still have heaps of animals left o your farm. How many acres do you have? Hope you manage a sleep in tomorrow morning. Hows things with you Landylass?? Get any more knitting done today? Lauren arrived home with an ASF studen exchange thing tonight! Oh NO......This mummy wont cope if she dives off for a few months next year. I'm feeling fine so far after the chemo yesterday. Might be able to ride the bike a wee way tomorrow. Love to you all....

joystik (287 )    10:53 pm, 18 Aug

well after talking with the nuse tonight

they base there calories on a normal 8yr old boy, he is not a normal 8yr old boy in size or weight he is a boy with FA and if they looked into that then things would change. If we were at home he would be eating the same amount maybe a bit less as hes on steroids so they get the munchies. He certainly is not fading away, I am just not happy with the forcing of NG feeds when he is eating fine....

bogeyi (484 )    10:53 pm, 18 Aug

joystick he was more than dopey

I would have been furious. Where we lived at Hector the guy next door kept his goats on the bank along side us and sometimes they got off and ate my plants I used to get so angry the final straw was my warratah tree I was watching it because it had it's first two buds on it and you can guess what happened I called him for everything. I lost Rhodoes. Gladies, a protea he would never replace them the sod.

boop2 (112 )    10:54 pm, 18 Aug

Nite nite, sleep tight and dont let the bugs bite

see you tomorrow everyone.....Lots of love and hugs to you all especially if I have missed you off the reply list, and I know I have, like geeze, meridian, cloffie, christyw, cole, trishm, dize in aussie, and nz trader. See there were heaps of you......Nite nite

joystik (287 )    10:55 pm, 18 Aug

bogey hate to show my

ignorance but what does ng feeds mean?

boop2 (112 )    10:56 pm, 18 Aug

lol sorry bout that but i was helping kiwikaz and though the best way to help her was to show her what the url looked like :)) The seats are just cinema seats I am trying to give away. I have had a good response and have got rid of the whole 200 but will have 800 more in oct and don't think they will be so easy. Danny plays computer games all day, he has his online friends in the game he plays and they chat away on microphones.

janetmk1 (40 )    11:46 pm, 18 Aug

that is alright Janet

at least Danny is not sitting brooding and has some interests. Night night Janet I am off now other half asleep in his chair.

boop2 (112 )    11:50 pm, 18 Aug

Joystik you sure know your roses.....

perhaps you can tell me why mine look so sick. I think its more the temperature and the fact that they are a bit neglected as I really hack them rather than prune. You guys are probably going to curse me but I am like all the males that chop things down to a tenth of the size. I can kinda see where they are coming from though, it looks tidy lol.

janetmk1 (40 )    11:52 pm, 18 Aug

Hi bogey

I have been reading about Ryans Fa is it an inherited gene in his case?

boop2 (112 )    11:56 pm, 18 Aug

Good luck tomorrow. go with what feels right to you, poor ryan has had enough without that tube being stuck up his nose again, its just so damn uncomfortable trying to swallow too. why can't they just give him a smoothie with eggs and weetbix, banana's etc blended into it, it may not fatten him up but it will keep him healthy. Can hubby not come and help you battle them? its a lot easier with two of you. Sometimes they just treat mums like overprotective mothers and totally miss the point!!

janetmk1 (40 )    11:58 pm, 18 Aug

nite everyone,

going to watch telly now with Jordan till he finally gets tired, hopefully sooner rather than later :))

janetmk1 (40 )    11:59 pm, 18 Aug

naughty naughty Janet

I am back again went to read about Ryan and saw what you did to the trees. I would rather they looked wild than tidy. Two houses across the road have their trees all nicely cut and rounded I think they look yuk. Sorry Janet.

boop2 (112 )    11:59 pm, 18 Aug

What I meant is, as i was watching some of the larger MB threads, the most common replies were from those who had a lot of stars (Trade Me rating stars) beside their names. Especially when the topic involved a medical problem - like Cancer Sux... look at the ones that come into the MB and introduce themselves...they usually have a good word to add but typically befriend the thread and repeat their entries...hence, they get free advertising when someone clicks on their member name and looks at their listings - all at the expense of someones tradegy...just a coincidence?

kdvd4pc (62 )    12:17 am, 19 Aug

I really don't know where you are coming from. I for one don't bother clicking on peoples profiles and things in this thread we are all friends here and anyone is welcome. You obviously haven't read it because the support, love and friendship on here is heart warming we are not here to gain for ourselves we are here to give support or to be supported. I have made wonderful friends on here. I really can't believe that anyone would think like you do this is life and death here not buy and sell.Try reading a bit of this thread I am really disgusted in your attitude.

boop2 (112 )    12:35 am, 19 Aug

I see you have 61 beside your name are you after free advertising?

boop2 (112 )    12:39 am, 19 Aug

Why didn't I think of that...KIDDING!

....I'm talking about big sellers, not me...look at thread # 22, that member seems to be popping up on all the big MB threads...just an observation. But just in case I've been missunderstood, i am not here to sell my wares so please do not buy anything from me! :0)

kdvd4pc (62 )    12:46 am, 19 Aug

Sorry, didn't mean to offend. Friends are good to have.

kdvd4pc (62 )    12:54 am, 19 Aug

what a rediculous accusation. If you bothered to have a good look through this thread you would realise that the regular posters on here are far from materialistic. I would be very surprised if any of them have had any sales resulting from someone looking at their listings from this thread. They are here for support and friendship - no alterior motives! How insensitive of you to suggest otherwise!!!!

meridian1 (300 )    7:41 am, 19 Aug

good morning everyone!

Hope you all have a great day! I have my daughter's netball game this morning. I love watching her play netball. Love to you all!

meridian1 (300 )    7:44 am, 19 Aug

Good morning everyone, well I hope you are

all having a lovely sunny day like it is here in deep Southland. Lovely and warm and breezy again, but can't find much washing to do today!! Have to get on and finish the proposal this morning ready for my friend to look at tonight and hopefully she will add a bit too it, and we can present it in person on Tuesday morning. Lauren is off delivering phamplets soon so that will keep her busy for the morning, and Kev is at the other house, which just leaves me and pussy to smooch and do some other house work. Might pull on the gardening sleeve and prune my last 2 Roses.

joystik (287 )    10:19 am, 19 Aug

Gee Boop, I can see why you would have been savage

with that man too. When the one came to do the neighbours trees next to our place, Kevin told him NOT to damage anything in our garden or I would lose the plot. fter he had tidied up his mess he came in and said that big branch had fallen down on our side but he had cleaned it up and no damage was done. BIG LIAR!! People that dont garden, just dont understand how much love and care goes into it do they Boop. Janet, I dont think you would ever kill a rose from pruning it down too hard all the same though, but they do grow nicer and flower better if they are done correctly. Sometimes people from Rose society's and places will prune them if you cant or dont know how. They need feed and water apart from that, and lots of people spray them regularly, but I just use mostly soapy water for aphids, and shield sometimes to control black spot or rust if I have too...

joystik (287 )    10:25 am, 19 Aug

Hi Meridian, have a great day and enjoy watching

the netball game. Is it a nice sunny day there today?? Hope so...

joystik (287 )    10:26 am, 19 Aug

Hi bogeyi and Ryan, so pleased things are going

better in your camp too. They must understand that because of his condition etc, he's really not the average 8 year old boy! And anyway, wasn't it the NG feeding that was making him so sick?? Sometimes they get a lot of tunnel vision dont they. Don't let them do what you dont want them to....hes your little boy and I would think he's much better to be happily munching on what he fancies, when he fancies it rather than having stuff poured down a tube that makes him awful for him... Take care Bogeyi and Ryan and have a great day. Thinking about you heaps guys

joystik (287 )    10:29 am, 19 Aug

Hi Paula and Josh, hows things down on the farm

today?? Watch out for charging cows and sloppy cowsh** wont you Paula. You'll be up to 100 babies by today wont you? Do all the heifers calve first, or no particular order?? I think you better keep Nana there for a few more weeks hadn't you?? You are much to busy to let her go yet. Thinking of you guys too and Keep smiling......Lots of love...

joystik (287 )    10:32 am, 19 Aug

kdvd4pc piss off !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

how dare you accuse us of things you have no idea on.......while my son sits in starship fighting for his life i am hardly interested in selling stuff, I only hope you are never in the position that we are in..

bogeyi (484 )    10:33 am, 19 Aug

I agree Bogeyi, fancy anyone even suggesting such

a thing. It is absolutely the last thing you think about when posting on here or any other thread actually. Its not what it all about. Some people have a strange way of looking at things....Dont worry Bogeyi, we all know why we are on here....

joystik (287 )    11:00 am, 19 Aug

Keep smiling everyone & don't let those

who don't have the intelligence to empathise and probably don't have any "real" friends in their lives upset you. Anyone "normal" person reading this thread would understand exactly what is going on here - just love and support - no ulterior motives at all. But i guess if you only look at life with the view of what you can get out of it for yourself that is how you will think. You gotta pity them really. Poor deluded fools. Keeping you all in my thoughts and sending lots love...cheers & hugs Trish

trishm (34 )    11:00 am, 19 Aug

Hi Maewest, yes we get heeps of spam through here

too,but it all goes into a separate folder thank goodness. This morning there were 38 spam emails and since then there have been probably about 12 more. Hope you have a good day at work.....its so lovely and warm here....much like a spring day. Must get on and do something....

joystik (287 )    11:02 am, 19 Aug

Sonia - still saving the thread each day

though and you will need ages to read it all when you get back. Take care and we will be here to help you raise your sword high on your return.

trishm (34 )    11:03 am, 19 Aug

Oh thanks trish for your message, are you still

saving this thread?? Peple posting stuff like that start to give you the jitters about what else could happen to the thread. It is a very supportive place to come and talk to all your firends who all have empathy for what one another are going through. Have a great day trish....(((HUGS)))

joystik (287 )    11:05 am, 19 Aug

Hi farmerlloyd, you must be out and about tending

to your farm yard chores this morning. Hope all is well with you and your family and you have a lovely day like we do over the other side of southland......see you later maybe.....

joystik (287 )    11:07 am, 19 Aug

trish your a gem....

Docs have been and are really happy with progress, kidney function is a little high so we are aiming to get 2litres a day in him of fluid includes iv meds in that number, i laughed as we had trouble before transplant getting a litre in him.He is hooked up to pedialite to help things. A few more meds are oral now so we are heading closer to that exit door.

bogeyi (484 )    11:09 am, 19 Aug

Waving to Sonia, Brent and girls in that lovely...

pool in Fiji........your pics were fabulous and that pool.....I showed Lauren and she said 'can we go there instead of Aussie?' It looks just beautiful....Hope you are having a nice relaxing time today...Love and lots of hugs to you all......

joystik (287 )    11:10 am, 19 Aug

Hey Bogeyi, you will be well clear of the place

before Tylers birthday at the rate you are going now wont you? Or is it still too early to tell at this stage. I got all my fingers crossed for you anyway....

joystik (287 )    11:12 am, 19 Aug

Hi Kiwikaz, are you coming back home tomorrow??

Your family will be looking forward to your return no doubt. If today is you last day over there, enjoy it wont you. You will have been a great comfort to your dear friends at such a terrible time for them. See you again soon....Love to you and your friend over there....

joystik (287 )    11:14 am, 19 Aug
